FITNESS TO DRIVE:
You must hold a current driving licence. (UK provisional, UK full or international driving permit)
You must be able to read a number plate at a distance of at least 20 metres.
I reserve the right to terminate a driving lesson if I suspect that you are unfit to drive due to the effects of alcohol or drugs (prescribed or otherwise), or any other condition that may cause your driving to be unsafe. The lesson fee will remain payable.
CANCELLATIONS:
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for changing or cancelling a driving lesson. I will be fair, however if you cancel within this period, I will charge the full cost of the lesson.
The lesson fee will become payable if you fail to attend a driving lesson
If, in the rare event that I need to cancel your lessons I will rearrange an alternative.
If I am unexpectedly late, where possible, the delayed time will be added to the end of the driving lesson to give you the full driving lesson. The delayed time will otherwise be added to a future driving lesson of your choice
DURING LESSONS:
I will meet the you at the agreed location and time. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the lesson may be cancelled and the lesson fee may become payable
The use of mobile phones during lessons is prohibited. Mobile phones should be turned off or on silenced for the duration of the lesson. please discuss these arrangements if you are expecting an urgent call
I only teach on a 1 to 1 basis unless the you request in advance to be accompanied. Extra people in the car may be a detriment to the driving lesson
DRIVING TEST:
I must be satisfied that you have attained a safe and competent driving standard before I will allow my car to be used for a driving test.
On test day you must take at least one lesson before the driving test plus there is a charge of 1 hour to cover the use of the car for the driving test.
If your driving test is cancelled due to examiner illness, you may be able to reclaim expenses from the DVSA. The DVSA will rearrange your driving test and lesson fees will remain payable.
If your driving test is cancelled due to bad weather, you will not be able to reclaim expenses from the DVSA. The DVSA will rearrange your driving test and the lesson fees will remain payable.
INSTRUCTOR CONDUCT:
I follow the latest guidelines as laid out by the DVSA
I am regularly checked by the DVSA to be a fit and proper person for providing driving lessons
I will provide a professional service to the highest standards
